Heather

Heather, how do you do? I had a dream about you, before I met you, you were smiling and my heart was beaming, Heather, how do you do?

We were walking through fields, just like now, golden sunshine coming through boughs, golden hair, purple flowers, just like now, just like now

We were working the fields, as years went by, by our house, you and I, raised our kids then they moved away, as years went by, as years went by

We went wading in creeks, ankles deep, in the deep of the wood, all our lives, ankles deep, ankles deep, until I took you

Heather, how do you do? Heather, how do you do?

Heaven's Not A Place

Heaven’s not a place, it’s a state, right here, right now, when I die and go to Heaven, I’ll be with friends, they’ll all greet me with smiles and hugs, but that’s a longways away, so for now, heaven’s not a place

Heaven has no gate, no lie in wait, right here, right now, when I die and go to Hell, I’ll be with friend’s, they’ll all greet me with smiles and hugs, but that’s a longways away, so for now, Hell’s not a place

We’ve got this dichotomy here on Earth, we’ve got this strange idea, it’s either this or that

Heaven’s not eternal rest, just a rest, right here, right now, when I die, I will surely be back here to greet you on this precious Earth, but that’s a longways away, so for now, Heaven’s not eternal rest

Honky Tonk Two

Let’s go honky tonkin’ honkin’, let’s go Honky Tonkin’ Two, let’s go honky tonkin’ honkin’, let’s go do the Honky Tonk Two

You’re mad at me, and I ain’t done shit, no matter none, you’re right and I’m wrong

Let’s make up, let’s make love, and let’s dance

Listen, I was here (oh, no you weren’t Mr.), I’ve been a good, good boy (bad, bad), no matter none, you’re right and I’m wrong

We’ve got to have trust (I’ll show you trust), we’ve got to build each other up (oh, I’m bringing it down), no matter none, you’re right and I’m wrong

Horse-Drawn Carriage

Take me down in a horse-drawn carriage, take me through woods and over hills, take me down in a horse-drawn carriage, take me down

Take me to the village square on market day, yeah, take me to the village square over there

We’ll buy some peaches and jam, enjoy ourselves, oh, man, on the village square over there

Mister, are you enjoying yourself?
